Weapons are now more combat-focused, and ammo is shared amongst all weapons, as players no longer have to worry about the conservation of each weapon type.
Witnessing the danger of the Necromorph menace first-hand, John partners with Isaac to head to the homeworld of the source of the necromorphs, Tau Volantis, to put a stop to them once and for all, and to save Isaac's former girlfriend, Ellie. Players will play as returning protagonist Isaac Clarke and newcomer John Carver, a member of EarthGov, the organization responsible for Isaac's capture and torture in Dead Space 2. In the final entry of the initial Dead Space franchise run, Dead Space 3 shifts gears and turns the game into more of an action-focused entry with a brand new co-op element.
